How do you identify short-term trends in individual stocks, and be sure it’s a trending market so you can swing trade the individual stocks?
What do I have to look at in terms of technical analysis – and how do you do it in terms of chart indicators for swing trading purposes?
Could you please explain in an easy tone for a novice stock swing trader? Thanks.
Under a sufficiently short time frame, all predictable trends should be priced out already hence the trend can be modeled with a random walk. That’s how the Black Scholes model works. Of course a random walk says that on average over n time periods, the price will not have changed on the whole but it’s also a diffusion that says that on average after n time periods the price will have changed by sqrt(n)*average absolute value of change per time period in either direction (that’s just a crude one dimensional uniform change Poisson random walk, the Black Scholes model uses a Gaussian normal distribution).
There’s very little proof of causality in most Technical Analysis methods, you could try the force index as it’s essentially a measure of investor consensus. Bollinger bands and MACD seems to be a favourite for detecting trends. There’s the concept of support and resistance and the depletion of support or resistance results in the bottoms or tops converging with the respective resistance or support levels where the breakouts occur.

According to investopedia,’The use of "bull" and "bear" describe markets comes from the way the animals attack their opponents. A bull thrusts its horns up into the air while a bear swipes its paws down. These actions are metaphors for the movement of a market. If the trend is up, it’s a bull market. If the trend is down, it’s a bear market.

Is there an easy way to track down flea markets or yard sales that might have a lot of video game stuff and toys?
Look for local flea markets in your area. Usually the stands inside the complex sell the games at a higher price so search the stands outside before going inside.
If your looking resale keep a good Eye out for old games in good condition know the price at which you can sell them. Make a deal with the dealer. Also be aware of the changing prices in old games. The online arcades and down loadable games from PSN and XBOX Live can kill your investment.
Games on the Super nintendo and before games usually sell for more. Just be aware of how much you can sell them for so you can make a prophet. Games on playstation and nintendo 64 can sometimes be iffy when it comes to which ones sell good. FFVII (Before released on psn) Sold any were from $75 to $200. But once released on psn about $30
Be aware of the prices you can sell them for. And be aware of what the price may be.

What is a share market and how much do I require to invest to buy one share and what is the cost of infosis share?
In financial markets, a share is a unit of account for various financial instruments including stocks (ordinary or preferential), and investments in limited partnerships, and REITs. The common feature of all these is equity participation (limited in the case of preference shares).
The cost of share (of any company for that matter) keeps changing daily. When you plan to buy, check out that day’s cost either in some newspaper, or internet, or even tv.

On the TV you see the Dow Jones and a few other countries shares index. I have been speaking to someone who says that the Hong Kong share market is very good especially with regards to not getting taxed rediculous amounts on any profits like we do in Australia. Can anyone tell me how as an Australian citizen/resident I am able to set up an account to trade on the Hong Kong share market and who you would contact to buy and sell the shares?
I think that you can try to contact the Hong Kong Trade Development Council. By the way, you can also goto www.BidAnswer.com to post your question again and you may find that you can get more helpful answers at there and you will get a $10 credit to post your question there.

Me and a friend are considering starting our own computer repair business, however we’d like to carry out some market research before deciding to invest any money. The only strategy we have thought of so far is to stand in a crowded shopping mall and ask people to complete a survey but we doubt this will be effective.
I would appreciate any suggestions on other types of market research or confirmation that surveying is a good method and also how many people we should survey to make our data credible.
You are right, your approach would not be effective. You can hire a market research firm to do the research and they should provide you with good results. There are many things to consider: the competition, the type of service you offer, the price you plan to charge, the population in the area you can serve, etc.
You would have to decide whether you expect customers to bring their equipment to you or do you go to them to make repairs. Is there a market for computer repairs? Computers become obsolete so fast, and prices have declines so far, that many people simply buy a new computer when their old one breaks down. There is a difference between computer repair and computer servicing. You may do better servicing working computers. This involves setting them up, networking them, installing software, installing additional hardware, etc. Repairing broken computers may not be a good business. A market research firm should be able to find out.
