(Tech) Market Share & Viruses (My Take)
Ahh the old market versus viruses. i think i made a point unclear in the update 12 video. I believe that as market share increases in a company, there will be an increase in ppl TARGETING an OS, hence MORE VIRUSES WILL BE ABOUT….thats it.lol. i however DONT MEAN that the mac will be effected more.check it out.

I agree Mac OS X is very hard to crack and get into. But there are people that will get around it. If you know Apple as well as I do, you also know that any whole they find Apple will fix. Mac OS X might not become perfect but Apple does stay on top of it more then Microsoft with Windows.

Yes I agree with you that more market share means higher probability that Mac systems are targeted. But there won’t be much virus out there for the mac os if the mac os is tough becos if there was a virus out there for the mac then hacker or virus developers have found a flaw in the mac os already (therefore mac os will not be tough).

All OS’s will be targeted if there is enough motivation to do so, no OS is excluded IMO. If OS X or Linux was as abundant as Windows, I think it would be pretty heavily targeted aswell.

moreover, OS 8 and OS 9 had quite a few viruses as its structure was not that of OSX. When Jobs came back he knew he had to dump OS 9 in favor of “nextstep” he also knew that he had to drop classic eventually meaning less inherited problems. Hacking has many avenues getting information does not really require breaking the system, it requires fooling a human being.
