But they worked out a free game strategy with Best Buy and they were giving out one of the two best titles available on the system. How is this not the same strategy he was just deriding?
I’m not a fanboy, this promotion gave me a reason to pick up a ps3 (also with Demon’s Souls finally out). I just think its silly when people fall into the silliness these people spit out for pr sake.

I want backwards …
I want backwards compatibility, but I don’t want to buy a used system… The PS3 is top-of-the-line equipment, and I want it brand new with ALL of the goodness…
Like treezy said, the PS3 is for people who are willing to pay a little extra for a quality system.
Why cripple it to lower the price, like they have? It seems to contradict their overall strategy. The day they put PS2 BC back into a new console is the day I buy a PS3.

they will cut price this year, question is just when.
Fiscal year ends this march, so it might happen on 1 of April. Or maybe they will wait until E3.

Google “sony losses surpass PS2 profits”. The PS3 has lost 3 Billion dollars for Sony. That is more than the profits made on the PS2. The games division is bleeding money.
