I second that. Distros like Small Linux and Knoppix seem to load up on whatever the I want them to and Mac OSX is a form of Unix and can also be hacked using the terminal or freely distributed programs to run on anything. As far build quality (not compatibility) is concerned I say the heirarchy looks like this: Linux/Unix-based > BSD > Windows > Mac OSX

and in terms of drivers, that’s differant thats a problem with the computer interpreting the hardware, but with the right coding it will work, so in theory yes any hardware works on both.
