How do you do market research?
I just started a new job and we are starting an assignment and we are calling it Market Research. My boss/owner wanted me to look up business in certain areas, to see about starting up another office in another area?
Do you know how I can look this up?
And how do I find out how much sales our competitors make? (Think of the pie chart)
Can anyone help?
Very simple.
Get a pen and simple notepad. What ever you are researching use as center for questioning.
Take to mall and start asking everyone.
Example>>Do you prefer owning or renting.
2. what is it about renting that you prefer over owning.
3. if given the chance would you consider becoming a home owner?
etc. etc.
Start by saying" can i please have 2 minutes of your time we are doing some local market research and i really need your help, and by the way you get a free Blowpop.

You need to get a subsription to a company like hoovers.com they have all the information you need. At the very least, ask for a free trial, they may let you use it for a day. Another company with that type of data is onesource.com

Marketing research depends on the type of the business:
1- What are you selling.
2- Who is the customer
3- Age group
4- Disposable income
5- Compititors
6- Perception
7- Pricing
8- Depending on what are you selling I can tell you how to
find how much your compititors sell.
9- How much work force you need.
10- Media & Marketing usage…..etc
