Where can I find free market research and industry reports?
Like reports from analysts and/or brokerages .
Or even just basic industry research?
Your local stock market website should have all the information you seek, or appropriate links.

Unless you work in the investment industry and have access to brokerage firms’ research through your employer, it will be tough to find exactly what you want. However, there are several free sources where you can look.
A good free resource is the SEC EDGAR database (http://www.sec.gov/edgar.shtml ) where you can access company filings. The most helpful filings in terms of industry information will be the annual 10-K filings that publicly traded companies are required to submit. In these filings, there are usually sections that describe the industry the company operates in. Some companies give better information than others, but if you look at 10-Ks from several companies in the same industry, you can get a good feel for the industry and pull together some good data.
Another good free resource is the investor relations page on publicly traded companies’ websites. The amount of information provided varies by company, so it’s good to look at several companies in the same industry. Some data will be aggregated by the company itself or data from a market research firm may provided. Some companies put the most recent research reports from sell-side analysts that follow the company’s stock on this page. An example is AAON, a small heating and cooling systems manufacturer (http://www.aaon.com/InvestorInfo.aspx ).
If you are enrolled in a university, the school library might have access to sell-side reports. If you have a brokerage account, your broker may provide access to research reports. I believe E-Trade does this.
Hope this helps.
