It states Two people are going into business and set up their own ice cream business. They don’t have much business experience but one of them knows Business studies and ICT skills and the other has worked in an icecream factory…
How an that they try to increase their market share in the next couple of years?

Price is the most prominent element which a consumer may use to evaluate the quality of the product. With all things being equal, the consumer will often go for the lowest priced alternative. Therefore do some research on equally valued competing products and set a lesser price.

I have been speaking to someone who says that the Hong Kong share market is very good especially with regards to not getting taxed rediculous amounts on any profits like we do in Australia. Can anyone tell me how as an Australian citizen/resident I am able to set up an account to trade on the Hong Kong share market and who you would contact to buy and sell the shares?

Alamy publish the revenue figures regularly, but I can’t find any estimate of their market share. Getty have roughly 35%, Corbis have 25%, AP 5%… and I think Alamy is around 5%.. but anyone know a clearer estimate?

With these two piece of information, I’m hoping to work out the total size of the market in the UK… But if you know that specifically, I’d appreciate it.

Total market shares are pretty difficult to analyze, but even if the estimate is slightly off, it can still be useful.

I would just look at Alamy’s sales (revenue) compared to Getty or Corbis’ revenue. Since you know the market shares of those other companies, Alamy’s market share can be derived.

For example…

revenue of Alamy’s / revenue of Corbis = N / .25… then just solve for N.

I’m doing a research paper on Nike and I’ve checked the internet for two weeks and cannot find the latest market share of Nike. Any business people out there or anyone who knows, write it down here and best answer gets 10pts!! I need it as soon as possible as my deadline is about 2 days from now.

Of course it’s true. If they charge dmore than the competition, how would they get any business? They have to charge a lower price to attract business, which causes the competition to try to match it.

Are they still losing market share or gaining?
